Sarah Boyd is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of English and Comparative Literature at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill specializing in nineteenth-century American literature, Art, and Science. Her dissertation explores the "weird" literature fueled by the American Renaissance and reproduced in the deeply romantic "realism" of the Atlantic Monthly.
She is also a professional photographer, dabbling in graphic design (selliebee.com). In another life, she worked in book and paper conservation. She is an avid bookbinder.
